 Financial Analyst    –  Job Description


To work in support of the financial team towards the optimal use of financial management best  practices including providing financial planning, analysis and administrative services related to  management accounting in order to enhance information and decision-making capability within the  organisation and drive efficient and accurate financial reporting, statutory and tax compliance within  the group of companies. 

Role Requirements (non-negotiable):  

  • Bachelor of Commerce degree, or equivalent, in accounting or financial management with  
  • At least 3-5 years relevant post-articles experience 
  • SAIPA membership/articles is desirable (SAICA also to be considered)  
  • Advanced computer literacy, specifically in Microsoft Excel  
  • System knowledge: Power BI/consolidation systems/Excel 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Ability to perform duties with limited supervision  
  • Deadline orientated with attention to detail  
  • Strong financial and business acumen 
  • Financial modelling expertise 
  • Scenario planning and analysis expertise 
  • South African Taxation expertise 
  • IFRS for SME expertise 
  • Financial statement preparation and consolidation expertise 
  • Statutory filing expertise (CIPC, Stats SA, SARB) 



  • Responsible for financial reporting, regulatory and tax compliance and reporting
  • Produce budget and periodic forecasting to aid senior management in decision making. 
  • Prepare and present Executive and Board reports 
  • Work with Finance Manager & Executive on strategic planning, scenario planning and financial data  analysis 
  • Conduct investment appraisals and valuations (Special Initiatives) 
  • Responsible for budgeting, forecasting, variance Analysis, overhead calculations etc. under  supervision and with support from Financial Manager & Executive 
  • Provide technical advice (Accounting and Taxation) 
  • Drive accounting policies & procedures, financial risk management & controls 
  • Ensure statutory compliance and returns (CIPC, SARS, Stats SA, SARB, etc.) 
  • Financial statement preparation and consolidation 
  • Liaise with external auditors and plan and prepare for annual reviews and audits 
  • Assist with continuous process and system improvement and ad hoc projects 
  • Finance Master data management
